In the News section of our website, you'll see some great articles to read, in particular, the series of articles on the Science of Polishing. Caren Barnes presented her topic, "Polishing- Evidence for Clinical Practice and The Reality of Selective Polishing" to our study club in April. You can refer to the Dimensions articles for review of her lecture and findings in her research. Also, be sure to check out Lynn Pencek's RDH article on the use of Loupes and ergonomics for the dental professional. Lynn has written many articles, and this latest one appears in the March, 2010 issue of RDH, entitled, "Do You See How I See?". She is our silver level sponsor with Orascoptic and is an expert on the use of loupe magnification. Lynn will be our guest speaker, along with Juli Kagen in September, 2011. |

What did you think of the last course on polishing? It made me think twice about which grit of polish I use more than before. Our office uses Nupro medium and fine grit. With the use of my airpolisher, I find I really use fine grit the most, as the airpolisher does most of the hard removal. Patients seem to like the less gritty feel of the paste too. We are also going to try Shimmer for the major veneer and crown/birdge cases. What do you use?
Please keep up the communication- let me know of any courses you know of that we can pass on to everyone.
